Chris Mavry-Founder of Micheaux Media-a content, branding and media company, Hailing from Philadelphia, Chris is an Afro-Latinx producer who creates and develops original content with an unconventional and oft avant-garde lean. Chris champions inventive and genre-bending narratives with people of color at the center. Through exploration of the multiplicities of racial identity, he aims to broaden the gamut of roles to which underrepresented groups have historically been limited on both sides of the camera. Chris received a bachelor's degree from San Diego State University in International Business with minors in both Entrepreneurship and Television/Film production. While stationed overseas as a member of the United States Air Force, Chris cut his teeth working on various media projects in China and Japan. These international experiences allowed him to develop his own approach to filmmaking that blends elements of Black cinema with naturalistic Asian aesthetics. He seeks to use his skills, talents and keen eye to more accurately portray POC in television and film. He doesn’t do it for the "Gram", he doesn’t do it for the clout, he does it for the culture.
